Any Horse Racing Fans Out There

Any body enjoy the ponies

If the weather is right, it's a perfect day. Gambling, cigars, ladies in big hats...what's not to like

I've been to 9 Kentucky Derby's and when I lived in SoCal I visited Del Mar, Hollywood Park and Santa Anita many times

The first Saturday in May is right around the corner

I used to be a jump jockey and trainer a few years and a few more pounds ago!

I'm in the black colours.

I love horses and used to go to the MassCap at Suffolk downs. Its the only race I've ever seen live but my wife has been to Saratoga a couple of times.

I was at Suffolk Downs with my grandfather in the early 70's. I was about 7 or 8 years old and he was in his early 60's. He loved the horses and went at least 1 Saturday a month

I still have the binoculars that he used to bring to the track, one of my most prized things....

My in laws are real big into horses. They have a bunch, between 20-50 at any given time. So naturally I tag along to races throughout the year. This year they've been real fortunate, $20k claimer out of Saratoga went on to win a grade 3 just a few months later. Here are a few pics from the track and barn.
Here's the claimer at his win.

Last week at Parx, came in 3rd

Sure is. Unfortunately I didn't have any time to try to make a run at the craps tables . Saw 2 races and had to get back to work.
Next time the farm has a "sure thing" running maybe I'll post it here? (although I did tell Sam, fremstar, about one of the races last week at aqueduct and he finished 5th of 5 in the field

Love 'em. Try to make it to Keeneland or the Derby every few years. I'm a Louisville alum, so I did a few years in a row. Also make the Fair Grounds here quite a bit and Santa Anita, Hollywood and Delmar when I'm in SoCal, which is pretty often. I've been to quite a few other tracks, but not on a regular basis.

Big fan of horse racing. I follow it regularly and have been to The Preakness when I lived in DC and I have been to the Belmont Stakes threes times now. Always a good time.

Anyone know/seen the movie "Let it ride" with Richard Dryfus

Funniest track movie of all time...."can I have 48 $50 win tickets on the 3 horse in the 7th race"

The Preakness in field when I was in college was the craziest. Went and sat in the stands and it was a great time.
The Belmont is a great time too, usually take the train though and it's been a disaster. 1/4/6 exacta when big brown pulled up, big pay day (horsemen always tell the wins, never the losses haha)

No not me. But I did see a lot of crazy stuff that day and none of it had to do with horse racing.

Only in Victoria, love it.
1/2 of WA takes the day off and another day off to recover.
