John Mayer suggests Vintage under 8k

http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2012/4/...or-8000-o.html

Quote:
“No more than eight thousand.” That’s the answer I always get when I ask a prospective vintage Rolex buyer what their price range is. Always Eight. Five isn’t enough to work with, and ten - well that’s just so…ten.

I’ve helped so many of my friends and colleagues buy watches that are within the $8,000 range that I thought I’d share some of my recommendations with you.

John if you are in here, post some wrist-shots!

I have always liked that DJ.

Keep in mind this does not include iconic vintage pieces i.e. the 1655, the $8k will get you a basic vintage model and he is aware of that... His post was meant to help folks get their feet wet into vintage ;-)

I'd love to meet John Mayer, and spark a conversation about watches. Same as with Eric Clapton. I'd would love to sit down with either and just chat watches.

I actually don't know what watches he owns. But I find his music to be quite awful.

Wait, that's "John Mayer" as in the singer??

I knew John Mayer the singer was a Rollie-head, but that's some serious WIS-iness.
