This may be a bit harder, but are their any because of the way they are designed or the functionality that they provide that you trully appreciate?

I like the 3185/6/7 movement found in GMT2's and Exp2's. Very functional with an independent GMT hand and a hour hand that can be set without stopping the watch

I'm not really a technical guy so I can't appriciate the movements on their own.

A lot of the modern movements are very pretty but don't address the primary function of a watch - accurate timekeeping.

The JLC duometre movements are truly something different and genuinely innovative. The separation of the power train from the regulating unit is a big change and should aid chronometry.

The Movements employed in the Heritage Watch Manufactory watches are designed with only that one thing, accurate timekeeping in mind. Adjustable banking, self regulating balance, innovative dual mainspring and a constant force escapement. What's not to love (apart from the price!)

Going vintage I have a love for the Vacheron 1003 /AP 2003 movement. Thinnest manual movement ever produced and still being made over 50 yrs later.

The Bulova tuning fork movements are also pretty special...l

Well, what did you expect from me?

As you already know Dan I'm a Patek enthusiast (although not owner...) but I must say that movement wise I find this one hard to beat.

Otherwise I'm drooling over any type of movement with one of those.

I'm not sure I can explain it.

I mean they make other real beautiful watches, but their chronographs just look amazing.

You are right my friend! And if I may push my luck I'd say that the manual winding ones are usually much nicer (it's always great to admire a wonderfully decorated and working movement without a lousy rotor in the way, whether it's made of 21kt gold or not)!

AP 2120 and 3120 and Blancpain 1315, in the mid-upper range for me. All three fantastic and unique.

The AP MVT in the super flat RO is an absolute stunner as to how it is made and the one off "Lavaux" engraved Blancpain is something that makes me dream. Aside from that my personal experience is quite short. Regarding functionality the B01 is certainly a treat and the finest thing since blueberry muffins in the tool watch chronograph world. It is so advanced regarding the features that the only thing that has you wonder is the omission of a silicone hairspring. The jury is still out on the MVT of the GMT IIc I just purchased, love the watch but I don't know the MVT enough to be able to tell.

I'm just starting to become a bit familiar with the AP movements. One thing I do apreciate so far is how well they finish their movements and beuatiful they look.
