IWC 7 Day Automatic Gaining Time

Hey guys,

I have a IWC Portuguese 7 Day Automatic that I purchased from an AD about a week ago. I haven't been wearing it, but has been gaining approx. 10 seconds/day. Is this normal for an IWC? I know its not cosc certified, but 10 seconds/day seems to be a little too much. Thanks!

I have a Portuguese 7 Day and when I first bought it, it ran pretty fast. It settled in after a few weeks of wear and winding. The older versions of the movement in the 7 Day have been know to run fast.

If it's really bothering you, you should take it back. May need regulation.

Beautiful watch, I own the black dial version (also had opaline dial version that you have, but recently sold).

The movement is known to run a bit fast. From what I've read, you can always get it regulate.

Mine ran 15s/d. I got it regulated and it's about 6s/d. However I never minded setting the watch every morning to offset the time gained... only took 15 secs.

I have had 3 and they all ran fast. I had my watchmaker regulate them (they were out of warranty) and he had no problem getting them to run +2 sec/day. Took him less than 10 minutes. But he is very good.
