AD Visit -- 93150 Update
Update
I called my AD yesterday about buying Rolex 93150 bracelet for my Tudor Sub. They would not discuss anything over the phone, including price. I told them I did not want to waste their time if it was $1,000's of dollars, didn't matter, no price talk, bring watch in.... So today I went in there. First they said, I had the wrong bracelet on there, it should be Tudor bracelet and a Tudor would have to be put back on. I was OK with that if it was considerably less expensive Then they said they would call Rolex and see what they recommend. RSC Dallas wanted the watch sent to them. I said , "no thanks". Then they, the AD, comes back after another 10 minutes and says we got a price quote of $950 for the Tudor 78500 and $1,150 for the Rolex 93150, but both require that your current Rolex 93150 be sent back to them. I said, "I have another watch I was planning to use it on". They said, "sorry, we can't sell you a bracelet then I said, "what if I had brought the watch in without a bracelet" The AD says, "that's easy then the watch would definatly have to be sent back to Dallas for inspection and the new bracelet would be $400 more than what we just quoted you.... Jeesh.......... |

Duh -
j/k - yeah this leave a fouls taste in my mouth as much as the next person, but I do understand the otherside of the equation which is infinitely more complicated than I care to get into. I definitly do not agree with this practice, but such is life. |

Yeah I had a similar experience a week ago I think. I just do t want to go to all the hassle from getting a bracelet from AD anymore. I just hate that the AD prevents us from personalizing our watch.

I totally understand why bezel inserts, bracelets and other items command such a premium on the internet market. From today's experience, walking into an AD and buying anything for your watch is out of the question.
Keep in mind this is an independent family AD and not BB or the big T. One would think they may try and help a guy out as they know I own 7 watches.............and I bought a Breitling and Omega from them in the last 2 years, both pre-owned |

I guess for not having an old bracelet to trade. Pretty crazy IMO but they want to keep a tight grip on their parts. Still pretty stupid if you ask me. I'd just look on here. There are quite a few for sale for a cheaper price. In the ADs defense it's probably not their call. Just Rolex being Rolex. Usually the smaller ADs bend over backwards for you and is why my AD is a smaller local AD.
