Sea Dweller help

Hi everyone ... I'm a new member, and have enjoyed many of the very helpful and knowledgeable posts here!

I recently received a SD as a wedding gift, and I absolutely love it. I have an old habit of sleeping in my watch, and I have noticed that my watch seems to be off about 15 sec/day ... I've only been wearing the watch for a week, but I didn't think there would be a break-in period. I'm wondering if I should take it off at night and learn a new habit (please God no) or send it in to the RSC for regulation and suffer without it for 3 weeks (please God no). I did wind it fully before setting it, but maybe allowing the watch to stop on its own, re-winding it, and re-setting it would help ...I don't know.

Any advice will be appreciated!

Thanks much -

Gil

Hi, Gil. Welcome to TRF. Glad you found our friendly forum. Stick around and join the fun here.

Wearing your watch shouldn't have that much effect on the accuracy. The watch should normally be regulated to +/- 2-4 sec./day. There is somewhat of a breakin period for new watches.

You might try taking it off at night and laying if face up or face down. That sometimes can affect the accuracy one way or the other. Also any competent watchmaker should be able to regulate it to better accuracy than you are currently getting.

Best of luck and keep us posted on what you do

Oh, and how about some pics. We love pics around here.
