If bought new from Rolex much more than the watch will cost you.

Someone will probably be along with an actual cost.

The Bay has one for $5,499 OBO.

It is actually cheaper to buy the combo initially, watch and band, than to try to acquire a band later.

I would guess that you won't see lower than $2,500 for a very worn version and $3,500-$4,500 will get you a well used but decent one. I usually figure a nice used DD can be had for $7,500 to $9,500, and the head alone is worth $3,500-$4,500.

You could buy one of the more slightly worn out ones and then have it repaired which might actually work out pretty well.

There is a guy called Michael Young in Hong Kong who does a real good job of repairing worn out bracelets for a decent price.

thank you all for your inputs. I think buying a complete watch from the begining is much more advantagous. I have seen a used 18038 with bracelet go for about $7 in here so i have some decision to make.
Again thank you for your valuable inputs. Best Regards to all and have a wonderful weekend.

I would contact the guy on eBay and ask him what he would legit ably take for the bracelet. I do a lot of business on eBay and have found that most people are willing to deal at least a little. Send him a private message on their site with your email address attached. This is technically against eBay law but who cares they have created a huge "racket" by owning Paypal and I have no problem with not paying them their 12%.

The price looks in line since it received a recent service.

If you look at Steve's post above, he estimates the value at $3,500 - $4,500 for the head alone.

That is while the price of gold remains stable..

you also need to make sure the bracelet will fit on a watch made for a strap, for example you can not put a bracelet on a Daytona that came with a strap.

A very wise warning...

You have to get the right end links for the 1803/8.
I think they are a 53b.

Looks like this watch is now "on hold" pending payment.

Did you pull the trigger?
