Plastics on a BNIB watch

Just received a new Rolex and was going to get it sized at an AD. It came BNIB from a trusted seller here on TRF, so I am not at all concerned whether it is authentic or not. However, I do have a question. As I am removing all the plastics, bezel protector, etc, I tried to take off plastic from the face of the watch, but I couldn't get one off. Does plastic come on the face of a brand new watch? Just curious. I rubbed the face of this one compared to my other Rolex and it does feel a bit "filmy." I don't want to keep trying to pull something off that doesn't exist... ha ha. Ideas? Thanks.
