Happy b-day Aykun!

Today I was reading about Istanbul and the Bosphorus Bridge. Each end sits on a different continent (I didn't know that).

Yeah thats right all of our houses are at Europe side and one is at Asia side just parallel to beginning of the bridge, Istanbul is just nice at pictures you are so lucky that you are not living here.

Thank you my friends.

Thank you my friends.
Aykun,

Istanbul is your homeland and you have to learn to make the most of it. Negativity and pessimism will get you nowhere. You are still young and have a long way to go.

Lighten up and look on the bright side of things. There are millions out there who are not even sure of where their next meal is going to come from.

Trust me, having lived in a country like India for almost FIFTY years and having travelled the length and breadth of that country, I know what stark, raving poverty is.

You still have a beautiful home, a BMW and a family to turn to. Look on the GOOD things of life and look on the nice things you've been given.

Try to smile more often and see only the good things of life...and you'll be a much happier person.

No, Aykun, I'm not giving you a lecture. Take this from a much older person who has also seen some very hard times and has come up on his own blood, sweat and tears. Nothing was handed down to me on a silver platter. I had to work for every damned penny I've earned.

Good luck, my friend. Cheer up and you'll succeed!!

JJ

This is totally off topic. JJ, you have excellent English grammar and vocabulary for someone who has lived in India for 75% of his years. I've worked with many people of Indian descent when I worked as a chemist (these colleagues always knocked me over with their math skills especially), but your writing skills take the cake.

Thanks, Carolina.

Yes, I was one of the privileged few to have attained a University of Cambridge based education in one of the best schools in Bombay at the time.

While my parents were considered only upper middle-class at best during those days, I always bless them for having given my sister, Nina, and me the very best in education and up-bringing.

A good, solid education certainly lays the foundation for the future and better things to come.

Cheers - JJ

Thanks JJ, first of all place I live is not my homeland, but beautiful in some cases, by the way a week ago after opening a depressed topic here I sold 2 watches here with nice profits, you are right we never know when and what will happen. I was about to leave the forum till I saw my birthday topic. Thanks alot. By the way you are right I can imagine your all life from India to Australia as experienced immigrant, even after waiting 50 years you found luck but now world is changed alot. By the way I'm happy to be in this forum cause really there are lots of good, nice people here but I'm sad to be in this forum cause I'm far to everybody, but everybody is far to everybody too and unfortunutely no meetings.
