Italian Dealer, Stevanella Gioielli in Verona. Has Anyone Delt With Him Before?

Has anyone dealt with this guy before? He has quite a few items on Chrono24 and seems to have a bricks and mortar store in Verona. It's not exactly in a classy part of town according to Google Streetview but it looks like a respectable operation and seems to have been around for a long time according to his website.

They are in business since 1905. I don't think I should say anything else.

Thanks a lot, 1905 sounds good! Have you ever dealt with them personally?

No I haven't but when I was back in Italy I heard only good things about them. They have a really nice collection of new and used Rolexs, they do also international shipping.
I can call them for you and ask any questions you have if you are not familiar with the Italian language.

It's really kind of you to offer to do that! I've actually exchanged a few emails with them already without any language problems so I should be OK.

Did you finally dealt with them. I am in your place looking to buy something from them. Any report would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx!

In the end I didn't buy from them but only because I was too slow in making a decision and the watch I was after was sold to someone else. I was fairly confident that they were a respectable retailer.

Icon7 Stevanella verona

Hi
I have personal dealt with this family, they have two shops next door to each other, one sells jewellery and the other high end watches. They are very nice people,it's a family business that has been open since 1905!
Yesterday I went to the shop and purchased a 2012 Rolex datejust 2 with a blue dial and white gold bezel.
I Highly recommend them!

My mate has dealt with them before and he received a watch which was scratched and dented at the back even if it was sold as like new and the high res pictures did not reflect this. I saw them myself. It also had a good amount of dust inside the dial and the sales person from Stevanella denied it all.

Lots of tug of war followed and in the end my mate decided to keep the watch and had it fixed by a watchmaker at his own expense. It was a good amount of change as he wanted it to be professionally polished. He could have returned the watch for a refund or so they said, but he did not feel comfortable with the seller anymore. Furthermore they wanted him to pay for return postage despite Stevanella clearly being in the wrong.

Lesson learned and I would certainly stay clear of these guys. Seems they are hit and miss. They were certainly a clear miss in the case of my mate. I myself have been unfortunate with an Italian dealer and whilst there are definitely good ones in between I have heard of too many horror stories involving Italian sellers, to write it off as a coincidence. Mint condition or "like new" in Italy often does not translate into the same elsewhere. Again I am speaking from experience
