Which Rolex ?
Hi All
I am thinking about pulling a trigger on another Rolex, but I am sitting on the fence at the moment, not sure what to do. I am about to flip 2 of my watches ( non Rolex ) for another Rolex, but here is the deal. one is a 16610 LV mint condition. and other is a 116400 GV also mint . I can only trade 2 of my watches for one of these watch, but here is the deal, I like sport watches, so I already have 3 rolex in my collection. 1. 16622 SS 2.16613 TT 3.116710 SS so I already 3 Subs so to speaks, I like the 16600 LV simple with a little green bezel can be swap out with black bezel, and the watch is already discontinued, so it maybe hard to get in future or people may ask ton of $$$ for it if it's in mint condition. The 116400GV, I like the green glass, but the drawn back maybe no date and with the thunder bolt hand , may look silly to some people. Has anyone own both of these watches and can give me some insight ? any advise , thought or input would be greatly appreciated. KV |

I really like the Milgauss GV and since you have a Sub I'd get the GV. Tough call b/c I really like the LV too. Good luck!!

Any chance you'd widen your choices? I'd suggest considering a GMT...

IMO, something like the thunderbolt hand is invisible to anyone but the watch's wearer. Watch faces are much too small for other folks to pick up that kind of detail, very often-- if ever.

seems clear to me you should go LV, as you aren't sold on no-date and the bolt (i think you need to make peace with these two things before you pick up a watch).
good luck with the choice! |

Usually when I'm ready I know exactly what I want.
If your unsure maybe your not really ready. By the way I'm biased, the Sub LV get's my vote.

Wow, thank you to all of your guys inputs. I thought sinced I already have 3 Subs , adding the Migauss GV with the green glass maybe something different , ,but I guess I am not really sold on no date and the thunder bolt hand , I was hoping to grow and love the Milgauss GV once I own it, but now the more I think about it the more I am puliing closed the 16610 LV.
I am going to work out the deal with the owner, hopefully it will go thru , will keep your guys posted once the transaction is done. Once again thank you for all of guys opinion and inputs. KV |

I'd get the LV but with that collection I'd really consider widening my search to something different. But you like like sports models. I'd atleast consider a polar explorer II. As Dan said when I decide to purchase I already know what I want so maybe you should sleep on it some more.

I am still working on the trade with the owner, i was hoping to get the LV by this week, first the owner agreed and would trade with either one of his watches. LV or GV
The owner now trying to hold off on his LV and pushing the GV for the trade, sinced I didn't want a GV. Well according to the owner , now his LV has some sentimental value and his wife didn't want him to trade. For the record , the owner of the watch is also a Member of the Rolex forum. I asked him straight up, ( do you want more cash for your LV ? ) and he said no, but just me a little time to think it over about my LV.. |
