Lefties vs. righties?

I first started wearing watches at an early age, mostly G-Shocks and used to wear them on my right wrist when I'm in fact a righty. I then started wearing them on my left and have done so for the last 10-15 years. Now, I am getting marks on my wrist for where the crown is.

I'm seriously considering moving back to my right wrist but I'm worried I'd bang the he.. out of my daytona and get a lot of scratches etc..

Who wears his on the right and what do you think? How long do you think before I get used to it?

I'm left handed and I wouldn't dream about putting it on my right wrist. Seeing how it looks when I try to write with that hand my watch would be banged up in 5 seconds.

I'd keep it on the left and not worry about that little mark

I write with my left hand, also wear my watches on my left!

My friends always notice the crown mark on my left hand, they say "What's that from?" I say, wearing a watch!

I think you would bang up the bracelet quite a bit inkless you can write and have your wrist float! I had to wear my watch on the right after surgery on the left and beat the heck out of the watch

Just move your watch back on the wrist a bit so the crown doesn't hit your hand.

Just depends what you're used to as to how comfortable it feels. I wear mine on the left and always have. Feels really unnatural to me when I try it on my right. Maybe you need to tighten the bracelet when you're wearing it on your left as it may be because your watch is hanging down your wrist too far if the crown to be digging into your hand.

FWIW im left handed. My Daytona goes on the right wrist. Whatever you wish. With the micro-adjustment you can even have two different sized wrists.

I wear mine tight enough so it doesn't slide down onto my hand - problem solved. My dad has a nice mark on his left hand from his crown, he just deals with it. I've tried wearing mine on my right hand but it just doen't feel right, you know?

I'm left handed and wear my watch on my left wrist. I've never had any irritation and I feels much more comfortable to me.

left handed and wear it on my right

funny thing is I always thought it seemed uncomfortable to have a watch on your left because of the crown digging into the top of the hand

i'm left-handed as well or so i think. i write with the left hand but use a mouse with my right and handle heavier tasks with my right as well, like using a hammer or heavy tools. i wear the watch on the left and about an inch away from the wrist bone. i don't have any problems with marks from the crown.

Right handed, GMTII C on right hand. No digs on wrist, no particular bad hits on watch (I only take it off when fiddling inside the airplane's radial engine throught the cowling).

I always have worn watches on the left wrist.
Being a lefty and righty (depends on what I am doing) I don't have a "off" side.
I don't get that mark from my Daytona though.

x2. I also wear my watches pretty snug, so the crown really never digs into my wrist or hand.

Right handed and wear watch on the left. I've dabbled with wearing on the right but it just doesn't feel right at all.

As Chris and Dan say, just adjust the bracelet so that the watch sits firmly on the flat part of your wrist with the crown between the wrist bones. This is how watches were always worn until fashion dictated that watches were for the ostentatious display of wealth.

Personally I deprecate the habit of wearing a watch like a girl's bracelet, flopping about on the back of the hand, for fear that one's colleagues will not notice it if it is kept discreetly hidden under a shirt cuff.

Women have baffled men with their willingness to suffer discomfort for the sake of fashion; this seems one of the few instances where some men will choose to do the same.

I'm a righty. I've always worn my watches on the left hand.....from 40mm to 47mm. No issues here (thank goodness).

Lefty here...I switch to the right every so often but can't hang more than a day. It's like wearing underwear backwards or something. I suppose I could get used to it but life is too short.
