Sounds pretty low price to sell a 112 for. What do you mean it doesn't have the glass on the case back? There is no crystal and the back is open or it has a back but it's not a skeleton case?

well, if the guy needs money ASAP, you never know, but, $1,000? no, that's not right. not by a long-shot. also, the back should be crystal (L series = 2009; it's correct that there were 1,000 made):

at the very least, that's not a 112. if genuine, it's a 000 (see the logo on the dial). in that case, it makes sense that the back is SS and not see-through.

Can't tell from your pic as it's too grainy. The whole thing sounds fishy. Is there all the apprioriate paperwork?

he said he thought panerais were ugly and it doesnt suit him and that he bought it as an impulse buy.. it works out as exactly 1365 bucks in the currency in dubai... is it actually a 2009 then if its a 000 ?

no papers? movement sticker? etc.? anyway, if he's 17 and a neighbor, see if he'll let you borrow for a day, and then go to an AD to see if you can get it authenticated. i'm not sure what you're asking at the end there. |

No Panerai expert here, but those pictures look all wrong to me. The size and spacing of the dial numbers/markers appear off.

even 17 year olds are not that stupid to market it off thousands below... he could have gotten more by even selling it back to the AD he got it from if it was real... did you even think about that...
sorry smells like a scam and feels like a scam |

Borrow and take to an AD. If it's legit, do it.

Walk away.
First of all, the watch you are showing us is a PAM000 not a PAM112, at least it is trying to be. A 112 would not have the OP logo on the front, it would also have a see-through crystal back not a stainless steel one. Secondly, if you take a look at the font and quality/depth of the engraving on a real PAM000 back you'll noticeable difference from the one you are showing. |

Looks fake compared to my 000. Something about the font doesn't look right.

You are taking him and the watch to get authenticated, then mystery will all be solved tomorrow. It will cost some money to be authenticated but if you manage to purchase a genuine PAM for $1000, then a little fee to give you the piece of mind is nothing to you. Good luck tomorrow and keep us informed. |

Seems too good to be true IMHO too, interested to see what the AD says but I cannot imagine someone selling an authentic piece for 1k
