GMT IIc - SS or TT??
I am in the market for a new GMT IIc but can't decide between the SS or TT. It's killing me. I should note that I already have a 16600 Sea-Dweller which I love.
Have been going back and forth and as I see it, the SS is timeless, I can wear it everyday and switch off with the Sea-Dweller and it is very versatile. That being said the TT is really magnificent and I always wanted a watch with some gold in it, but I am afraid that I would wear it less and there is a 30% chance I may get tired of its more flashy look 10 years down the road. Curious to hear your thoughts, and also see any cool pics of the TT or SS that may help sway me... (attached a pic of my SD) |

TT no question. Especially if you already have an all SS watch. IMO

TT. You already have an all stainless model.

TT if you plan to keep the SD, other than that, SS hands down.

I think the two-tone would get old. Not a fan myself.

TT is my pick, especially since you already have an all SS. I also think the GMT-iic is one of the few watches that actually look better TT.
It goes great with anything!

I'm going to vote for the SS model. TT, on that watch, is too much, at least to my eye. You said you have concerns about the "flash" getting old---so maybe it's too much for you, too.
Get what you really like. It's ok to have the Sea Dweller and the GMT IIc being all SS. They are very different watches...no need to go TT just to further distinguish them. Down the road, you may find a gold or TT watch that is just right for you. If you have enough reservation about the TT GMC IIc to start a thread, it probably isn't the right one for you. |

I'd get the TT since you have a SD already.

Thanks for the great responses. I really like how the SS version brings out the green GMT hand and font, while the TT is more about the gold, which is nice in and of itself. Almost wish I could spend a week with each..tt looks good on the slopes, wow

Wanted to get a TT instead of my SS right after getting the GMT. It didnt take long however before I ditched that idea as I love and prefer the SS. I am however considering getting the AG 116718. But would still be keeping the 116710 alongside.
