I went to my eye doctor last week and even though he put something on my eyes to exam them, I still could see that he had a Ulysse Nardin 18K Minute Repeater Jungle watch, limited edition to 18 pieces. Retail price is about $300,000.00. I thought he bought it himself, but to my surprise it was a gift from his wife. In 30 years of watch collecting I've never heard of a wife giving her husband a watch that cost $300,000.00 and also this is the very first time I see a man wearing a watch that cost $300,000.00. She offered him another watch for their wedding anniversary, but guess what? - He refused the gift. Man, I wish I was married to her. P.S. I hope my wife never read this post. I hate to imagine what would happen to me.

Wow - what a story! At the risk of upsetting some people, my personal opinion is that it's absolutely crazy to spend $300,000 on a watch.... <ducking the rotten fruit thrown at me>

Some guys get all the luck -Why is it that guys like that, who proberbly look at it as 'just a fancy watch' end up with a watch like that??

Not to be a troll or anything but i found it funny. Cause
you know that's what alot of people (invicta forums, replica forums) would say in regards to buying "a" rolex or to even buying "mutiple" rolexes.

Everything is relative. My wife paid for my "new to me" YM and ToG and I feel damn lucky.

I would rather use that money towards better things such as an investment to a new home rather than a funky looking $300,000.00 watch. But I guess to each his own.

Well, I like that watch, and Patek actually made something like it, not with any animals on it, though, but still pretty much "botanic" dial.

Agree with you again Bo. The Freak is one of the most inovative pieces out there. UN is not afraid to push some boundries and they do some excellent movements. I was about to order a Blue Surf before I saw the new GMT IIC and changed my mind in favor of the more familiar.

Anyways, if I was going to spend 300k on a watch it better have the following features on it:

1. A tourbillion

2. A minute repeater

3. Power reserve indicator

4. Platinum case

It's all relative.

There may be people in extremely poor parts of the world wondering how others can outlay $40 for a fake Rolex or $100 for an Invicta.
