I have the opportunity to buy a pre-owned Cellini Danaos very cheaply but have not found any info on it. Seller has no idea, but has box and receipt from 15 years ago.
Before I pop off the back to look for myself(don"t want to), can anyone help out here?

What are you really asking? What movement is in the watch? Take it to a local AD and have them pop off the back and check it out for you.

What do you want to know? I have one, Any watch maker or. jeweler can pop off the back and verify the movement. It is hand wound, reliable and dressy.

No rotor, some do need winding each day.

How self-explanatory can it be?

The Danaos is a beautiful watch and I'd love to have one myself.

Manual winding watches are kind of esoteric these days, but they're manageable.

That's all I could afford for many years before battery power, with a couple of exceptions.

The manual wind Cellini is expected to be either:
Worn mostly every day, wound for 30 seconds every day
Worn on those Special Occasions and reset to proper time and wound accordingly.

It is not an automatic, nor a battery powered quartz, therefore once a day you wind it. Part of the deal of ownership.

yes, although it is archaic, it does take you back to the day when all watches were that way. That is exactly what you do. You wind it by hand and carefully so you do not over wind it. You set the time and enjoy it. I toughly enjoy mine on special occasions and marvel at its classic looks.

It's extremely easy to get into a routine with winding a manual watch. I've had my Speedmaster for almost a year now, never stopped whilst on the wrist

No of course not that would be silly. I use a finger and a thumb, it takes a lot of practice but can be done, or get trained chimps to do it, either way works well in my experience

You cannot over wind it. The crown will stop when fully wound.

I guess I needed to be more specific.
Obviously, a hand wound movement means it is a manual wind watch.
My question is more directed to the quality and overall excellence.
A company known primarily for its automatic movements, how does it measure up?
Is it manufactured entirely by Rolex?
I own a manual wind PP already and its movement is without equal.
