A visit with my first WIS friend... GTG

Dear TRF Friends...

Please allow me to share this great story with you about my recent GTG in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Before I begin I would like to tell you how I meet Michael (ap_mike)...

Michael and I meet on a watch forum about 5 1/2 years ago when we were both new to collecting watches. We then had the opportunity to meet in person at a big Rolex GTG in London 5 years ago where our friendship grew at a more personal level. Over the years as our passion for watches grew we consulted each other on different brands and watches we were persuing... From Omega to Rolex to AP and PP...

So last week I had the opportunity to meet up with Michael as I was operating a flight into Colombo. We had a great time catching up and sharing our small watch collection with each other... Here are a few snaps from our GTG...


This was my very first overnight stay in Colombo Sri Lanka... It's an absolutely beautiful country... I only wish I had a few more days to travel around!

I was trying one a few of Michael's watches... The Omega Speedmaster started his passion for watches...





His very first Rolex... Datejust...




An absolute beauty... my camera just does not do justice to this watch...







For some reason I could not take this watch off...






And then there is something special about the 15300... so much so that this will be my next AP



Why did I ever sell my 15300 Blue...






Okay so here is something that you all don't know yet... When I bought my AP Diver I had emailed photo's of the watch to Michael... He fell in love with the watch right away... and when I told Michael that I was flying to Colombo, he specifically asked me to bring the Diver... I think all along he had planned to take it off me...










Once he put on the watch.... it was not going to come off... he was in love!






So now I will be picking up another diver for myself on the 30th (PAM GTG with Inspires in HK)

At the end of the day I am so glad that my passion for watches has led me to meet and make some great friends... And Michael is the first WIS friend I ever made... as our taste in watches grew so did our friendship...

And I also want to say thanks to all the TRF members for making this such a fun and great place where we can all share our love for watches and make new friends...
