I don't have one, but for some reason that is the only style my wife actually likes for a man. She wants me to get a square shaped watch on a nice leather band. Shows how much I respect my wife's opinion in that I don't own anything that resembles that. I wouldn't mind having one though.

Larry, I have that same Gruen curvex in a ladies size, rose gold plated. I still love that old watch, though it is in need of a good cleaning and a new crystal...

At my age I have started to wear this on a daily basis. Just got a call from Bo and Tom that they are giving me a Daytona. Don't believe me....look at the BP reading!

Mort, Have you seen the new Rubber Dive Bracelets that Cartier came out with for thier Santos 100s?
I have to admit, out of all the watches I have ever tried on, the Cartier Santos 100 was probably the most comfortable. The curved case just melts into your wrist and the leather strap and the deployment clasp was perfectly designed. One is on my list for the future. |

This is a square one I have had lying around in a box for about ten years now. (needs a wee polish) It's in an 18k yellow and white gold, ( or platinum or just ss, not sure) case and has the name Fairfax & Roberts (Sydney retailer), Patented Swiss made 15 jewels, 3 adjust. and the name Tavannes Watch Co., all impressed on to the movement. This is not a name I am familiar with but they certainly made classic 30's watches, very stylised. It was presented to someone on their 21st birthday in 1931 (engraved on back)
