Rolex Oysterdate Precision
Hi All,
I have the opportunity to buy this Oysterdate Precision....There are no papers, but according to the seller, the watch was serviced at RSC, with a new dial, hands, crystal, and crown. He's out of town, and were going to finalize the deal when he gets back.......I really like the vintage look, and with new parts, it looks almost new, for an old watch...The lume is like a torch....Anyhow, I figured its a less expensive way to get a nice classic Rollie on my wrist..I love the classic look of a silver dial, and gold hands...Anyhow, my only question is, all the photos I see of Oyserdate Precisions, have the T SWISS T, on the dial, and this one has SWISS MADE.......Is that because its a new dial without tritium? and I didnt know Rolex redials such old models....Anyhow, I'm super excited about this watch....I sold my V series Sub last year, and regret it, but this little old watch has something about it that I like! Including the handwinding... I used to have an Omega Aqua Terra with a woth a silver dial and gold hands/markers...This is has similar yet more classic look to it...What do you guys think? Its either this, or pony up some more cash, for a DJ.... |

The 6694 was made into the 1980s, so it's possible that you have a later model that was made with Luminova.

The dial has the early " - Swiss Made -" markings, indicating steel indices, as opposed to "o Swiss Made o" for gold.
So, I would be surprised if the new dial mentioned was recent. Perhaps the seller could be quizzed on exactly when this RSC service was performed... Good looking watch though. If the price is right and it's one you want..

Thanks TOOLS...
I'm waiting for him to get back from Japan...I asked him to send me a photo of the RSC receipt, showing what work was done... |

I'm pretty sure that the dial and hands are recent Luminova service replacements. They sure glow like they are!
