Daytona Part III

I won't bore you with my earlier posts on this subject but had to go back and try it out one more time. Truly stunning on the wrist and a watch that most pics don't capture very well.

Would you give up a Sub C for a SS Daytona as a daily wearer??

Both are great time pieces! Personally I would prefer the sub. I like having the date feature! Are trading it for the daytona?

The daytona does not really do it for me, but the sub c did not either till I tried it on..
I lobe my Tudor pre-tiger with black bezel, I like the old daytona with the black bezels.

Have to lose the Sub to pick up the Daytona. Date is a non-issue for me.

Daytona for certain over the SubC, no question.

That is really really tough. I would not give up my sub c for a Daytona. Even though the Daytona is the next Rolex I will be buying.

Thinking...And full disclosure

That is a good point that in my mind I this but didn't say...."over SubC"....wouldn't ever flip my LV for it though...

Also I'd only do it for a white dialed Daytona...

Same here. For my first Rolex, I'd get something like a Sub or GMT. Then I'd get a Daytona. I wouldn't trade for a Daytona if it meant I'd lose the Sub ...

Tough decision if your situation means you can only go with one ... even then, I'd stick with the Sub if I could only have one ...

Personally I would keep the sub and save for the Daytona... IMHO the Sub is a better daily wear

If the date function is not important to you then I would get the Daytona. Try white dial as well on the Daytona as the dial is a little easier to read then the black.

Good luck.

I'd rather have the SubC. The fact the Daytona doesn't have a date is a killer for me. I'll probably never own one because of that.

The SS Daytona is a great watch but for a daily wearer nothing tops the SS SubC. The Daytona is best IMO in a rotation.

Thanks for all the responses, folks.

I appreciate hearing the input. I usually have no problem making these decisions but this one is a tough call for me. Not to mention that there will prob be an update to the SS Daytona soon, I would expect.

Personally - I wouldn't.

The Subs are my favorite model that Rolex has to offer.
Looks great though! Good luck.

The lack of date is a non-issue (for me) but some seem to think that because the bezel gets scratched so easily, it can lead to looking rather beat up if used as a daily wearer. That is about the only real downside I have heard from anyone.

abit of TLC every once a little while and some common sense - it should be a great daily watch.

I'm not a big Daytona fan, but the black dial does look good on your wrist

If I was going to get a Daytona, I prefer the dial options of the gold models, and I also like the new ceramic bezels. Would probably wait until next year to see what further options (if any) are shown at Basel

IMHO I prefer Sub. It has a larger wrist presense, has a date (which for me is important), very easy to read (day or night) and great all around watch.

Like the Daytona, but found when I had a white dial, I missed all of the things listed above.

Can't go wrong though either way

I would save up until I could get the Daytona on top of my sub. I wouldn't sell the sub.

I would not. Had a Daytona sold a Daytona. Personally didn't care for PCL's and lack of date. Also felt the clasp was too small and the easy link was useless for my wrist. These are just my feelings and really mean nothing to you but you asked!!

Good luck!!
