Submariner no date no cosc 2002-2007 the last classic?

last classic sub?

I have owned my 14060m since 2005, its perfect for any occasion and has always been accurate. It has the 3130 movement like the cosc version but without all the extra text and rolex rehault.

A classic in the future?

Your thoughts please add

I agree!

2-line 14060 is the last of the "classic" line. 4-lines is cool too...but I prefer mine uber-simple.

No.

I'm wearing the last classic.

The 14060M with random serial number.

Or, maybe it's my Z series Explorer.

Either way, from my perspective, both of these watches are classics or will be in due time.

The 4-liner was made for such a short time I feel it will be the one to have in 25 years.

You don't have to wait until the future for the 14060 in any of it's slight variations to be a Classic.. It is one right now..

I say the last random models are the end of that era. What people will collect, be it 2 or 4 line - or none - only time will tell.

My next purchase is likely to be this watch, love the simplicity of it especially the two line dial.

+1. A modern 5512. Love the 4 lines on the COSC version.

Yes, what made the 2-line 14060 so striking - even before Rolex introduced the supercase on other models - was its minimalism. No date. No cyclops. Uncluttered dial. Plain rehaut. Take away those last two and it's less distinctive visually.

Approximately 6 or so years. Started with Z serial, which started in 2006ish and is now discontinued as a random serial in 2012

More like about 5 years. They appeared from late Z.

I am in love with my Random Series 14060M with my Z series 16600 SD falling in at a very close second. IMHO the 14060M, 16600 and 16570 were the last of the true Rolex tool watches.
