Rolex and Insurance Companies
After a post with differing results about USAA proceedure about stolen watches, I called USAA Claims. She called her gemologist. He said that USAA has a watch replacement account with Rolex directly. I was surprised to find out that USAA has a direct account with Rolex USA so I contacted Rolex and they confirmed that. I spoke to the customer service manager at Rolex New York. Now I am sure that USAA pays less than MSRP so it poses an interesting question as to what value you should place on your watches when insuring with USAA. I will try to get more info.

I would still insure for the full replacement value. MSRP if a model is still produced, full appraisal value if not. You never know when a relationship between an insurer and a vendor might change and you could get caught short if you try to insure for the company's anticipated cost to replace.
Would want to check with your agent also. Some, if not most companies require coverage to value. Means if you insure for 60% of value and loss is above that amount you are paid only 60% of the loss even if that is less than the dollar amount of coverage you purchased. Always better to be over insured than under.
