Goodbye Sea-dweller :(
See you in 4 weeks from the RSC spa!
Finally dropped her off to the RSC in Toronto.... The service center can be easily missed as there's no Rolex signage on the building. Currently they're doing a major renovation. In the car on the way to RSC Elevator to the center Displays Movements... Crowns What? No watches? The wall behind reception... As usual, beautiful women behind reception :)

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. I like the elevator doors with the logo on them. Where's the RSC located in Toronto?
Be sure to post the before and after pics when you get your baby back! |

I received the estimate from Rolex. Here's what they have indicated:
Specially formulated oils and lubricants which protect the movement parts have dried out causing the watch to lose time. It is ready for a full factory movement servicing. We have carefully reviewed the condition of the winding crown, case tube and crystal. They are in good condition and do not need to be changed at this time. New gaskets will be installed during the service. I've instructed them to go ahead with the service.

I called RSC today and the updated turnaround for my watch is 5 weeks
I talked to the co-ordinator and she said they're really busy right now, around 160 watches being serviced. Even the techs are working Saturdays. Two more weeks!

Given Clark's problem, (in another thread), with RSC Dallas' apparent failure to pressure test the watch, whereupon it filled up on his first swim back with it, I would press them to assure you that it was pressure tested...maybe documented results from the test are available, (since you are apparently going in person). Just sayin'....

After reading that thread, I took the plunge and left my SD in a jug of water and let it sit there for a min or so. No bubbles - not sure if that is enough of a test. Also wore the watch when I gave my kid a bath, and washed the watch a couple of times today.
RSC service paperwork indicated it was pressure tested. One thing to note that on their service paper work, they noted to ensure that the crown be screwed down before diving. Quote:

Thanks for the pics.
When was the last service for this watch? Or is this the first service? Hope to get pics of how it turned out. Cheers. |

Just picked it up... Service paper shows it has been pressure tested.
Waiting for my SD to come out of the spa. The ladies were shy... Here she is... Comes with the card style service warranty card. I thought it would be a credit card plastic type but its only a piece of thin cardboard. Wrist shot... Total cost was $531 after taxes. New seals, service the movement, polished and pressure tested. Crown tube, HEV, and xtal were untouched.
