I have seen a few threads commenting on the Pelagos sizing in relation to the DS so I thought I would take the opportunity to take some comparison pics with the SD and SDDS

Note the light is rubbish, the photography is rubbish and the timepieces are filthy :-)

Also wrist is 7.5" ish...

Great comparison shots, the more I see the more I want. Pelagos not as large as the DSSD but bigger than the SD.

Pelagos is about the perfect size IMO, can't wait to see one in person.

Very interesting pics, thanks for posting

The Pelagos is a substantial watch, but will be relatively light being all titanium. To my eye its proportions are nicer than those of the DSSD (height vs diameter)
The all-matte finish gives it a very no-nonsense, almost military look

I expect that if the designers had proposed 44/45 mm diameter, 18/19 mm height and 4,000 metres w/r, then internal politics would have prevented this (DSSD remains 'king of the hill')

I wish that Rolex had kept the matte finished, lumed ceramic bezel insert for themselves. On a Sub it would be fantastic, especially with a matching matte dial. Perhaps our Photoshop experts could kindly oblige?

Great comparo. That Pelagos is looking good - just what Goldilocks order, me thinks. And the price certainly gives the Pelagos a distinct advantage over the SD and DSSD.

Great pics. I don't think this is the case, but it looks as if there is AR applied to the Pelagos crystal.

I didn't think the Pelagos would be that big. It looks great but somehow I've had bad experiences with Ti watches getting scratched easier than 406L ss. But even with that, I'd love getting a Pelagos.

I believe the Pelagos' crystal does have an a/r treatment, but I don't think this is mentioned on the Tudor website

I just wish they had done this watch in steel. A 42 mm steel watch with an ETA auto movement is not going to be heavy. My feeling is that the choice of material was made to differentiate the Pelagos from the DSSD

Ti almost kills it for me. SS and I would buy it sight unseen. Ti, and I'm going to have to handle it. Im not a fan of Ti in watches. Case back is OK, but not the whole thing.

I would pick the Pelagos, but its a shame it doesn't have a cyclops as my eyes aren't what they used to be

I think the titanium make this watch fantastic.

Mike, it's just a personal thing. It is a fine material, tarnish free and scratch resistant. I just like the heft of SS.

Not a quality thing, just a personal preference.

It is very light on the wrist when taking its size into account, it feels lighter than a 1680 sub.

Great technological advancement coming from Rolex/Tudor.

Really cool lume in the bezel and ceramic/titanium pointed crown guards are a great package.

I had a real itch for one when I saw the official photos....now I'm not too sure. Looks too much like a DSSD is it's stature.

Thanks for those photos, they really put the Pelagos into perspective. I'm actually surprised that it has a "bigger look" than I imagined it would. Mine is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and I just can't wait!!! :)

Saw a video clip on the pelagos clasp.. It comes with "free adjustment zone" too.. Wondering is this clasp available on the rubber strap too?
