Submariner question!

I have a Submariner and it has an extra red hand similar to my explorer 2. Can someone tell me what year it is as well as it's use?! I've googled and googled and can't even find a pic. Thanks!

It's exactly like the 24hr hand on the exp 2 or GMT. To help, it has case holes... The "submariner" text is written in white, not red.

When I google this, none with this extra hand come up.

It sounds like what you have is an "anomaly".

Can you post a picture?

A pic will help clear it up!

Are you sure it's a Rolex Sub and not another make?

Interesting! I haven't seen that combination before.

Does the 24 hour hand actually function?

Hard to tell from the one picture, but it's either a franken watch, or a complete fake!!!

A Rolex Submariner does not come with a 24 hour hand.....
Moved into the watchout section!

The watch was given to me as a gift from an extremely wealthy friend who owns hundreds of watches. There is absolutely no way this individual owns anything fake.

I just gave you some info....
It's either a GMT swapped out with a Submariner dail (franken watch), or it's a fake!!
The Submariner does not come fitted with a 24 hour hand from factory!

The one picture you've posted is not conclusive either way, but one of the scenarios I've posted is correct.

Then ask him why it's not a factory spec watch!

Everything looks 100% fake to me.
Dial, Hands, Hour Markers, Bezel, Date Magnification and/or Date wheel or both.

LOVE TO SEE THE INSIDE!

It very well may be partly real but that GMT hand does not belong there, so Rob is 1000% right with his assesment. It was not an off the cuff remark, there the only two possibilities I'm afraid.

X 2 what Rob said above Rob , that dial is not an original submariner dial, either it is a low quality respray or a complete fake, pretty shiny rehaut also it would appear as it has glared your photo, i do not know of anyone who would ask for such a modification, no self respecting watchmaker would even do this to a watch if you asked, if your friend has so many watches and is wealthy why would he not have a unaltered GMT if he wants one, and a submariner if he wants one ? rather than this crossbreed. I would be embarrassed to wear such a watch as anyone who knows anything about watches is going to say it's a fake, if indeed you believe the watch is real spend some money and change it back to what it was, buy a GMT dial and change the bezel insert to an authentic gmt insert

TC, the reason you cannot find a picture of this one out there is because someone has added this GMT hand, etc themselves and is not something that would have come from Rolex...aka a franken watch. Does your friend do this to his other watches? Have you asked him about this one first? What did he say?

Hello everyone! Thanks for the overwhelming responses! I took it to someone reputable and he took it apart. It's a GMT with a Sub dial and Bezel(frankenwatch!). I'm gonna kick his ass! Nah. I'm not.... I'm going to get a GMT dial and bezel and change it back myself. Thanks fellas!

You got it verified quickly. Did they use fake sub parts to frankenstein this?

I wonder what kind of business would be able to take apart your watch so quickly and so late in the evening.

Does this "someone reputable" operate a regular watch repair service?
