Blue Moon of Kentucky

A fitting tribute as just across the river Neil Armstrong was laid to rest today.

It was a wonderful Blue Moon of Kentucky down here in Glasgow, KY tonight. A perfect moon, and a perfect night for small town High School Football NOTHING feels more like America to me than Friday night small town 2A High School Football.

Thanks, everybody.
Took this last night while sitting on the back deck listening to the Red's enjoying a cigar a few cold Red Stripes. Real cloudy so very limited opportunities to catch it but the moon was stunning on the rare moments it appeared.
Couldn't help but think of Mr Armstrong.

Nice Dan. Here's one from the space shuttle I'm sure he'd appreciate. (naturally, not taken by me.)

I can't even think about Neil's passing... He was one of my biggest heroes.
Aldrin is no second, nor Collins, White, Bean, Shepard, Schirra, Mattingly, Scott, Grissom, Lovell, Cernan, Duke, Mitchell, Swigert, Borman, Haise, Irwin, Schmitt, Worden, Young, Schweickart(who puked) , Chaffee, Eisele, Stafford, Cunningham, Gordon, Evans, Anders, Conrad, McDivitt, Roosa...

Not to mention all Mercury and Gemini veterans!

The US space program is something that was done for mankind. I as a Finn, take great pride in what these men did. The ultimate grace goes to the USA, but I find it very humbling that the US always saw their space program as a venture of man, not only a venture of the USA.
