I chose white 'cause I already had a black dialed GMT and a black dialed Milgauss. Didn't want another black dialed watch!

Get either and buy the other dial color. You can then swap whenever you want.

Sounds good, otherwise I think I would personally go for a white dial.

So much Black. White is the way to go for Daytona IMHO.
I hope to have one soon, one day, sooner or later...uh before I kick the bucket.

This is the only reference where I would say white. Yep, not even the Explorer II.

I have always loved the white dial. While visiting my local AD this past weekend they surprised me when they told me that they had one white dial Daytona on hand. I think it's a great looking timepiece, not to mention a classic, and in no time I added it to my collection.

For me I like the white's contrast but you can't go wrong with either

I like to try and balance things out...I have a white dial Exp II so when I got the opportunity to get the Daytona I chose the black dial. What's in your collection so far?

I have a Big Pilot 4001, but am purchasing a Panerai [233 or 372], and to finish my collection a Daytona ...then i will put my wallet to rest

Nice collection!! You may want to check out the white dial Daytona then if you're looking at getting some other black dials.

And Mike is right...you'll get these and then be itching for something new before too long (perhaps a Breguet). Haha

White looks classy and will stand out. Majority of rolex watches are all black.

I started a thread a while back about this topic.

Lots of feedback that black was very hard to read.

white is a bit more practical... easier to see and less common than black dial watches...

but if i had to choose, i like the black

This is one watch I would own both colors. I am not really sure why, but I would think about white when I wear black, and black when I wear white.

Got a black dial of that model.

To be honest, this watch is so bling-bling - you won't add much with a white dial. If you worry it might be too flashy in white.. don't.

Decide on what type you are and what looks better. Some people tend to match better with black dials, other with white. Depending on your skin and personal type.

I have had both but prefer the black dial on the 116520 since there is more contrast to the chrono registers on that dial...

On the white dial 116520, the silver rimmed registers blend too much into the white dial imho..

Had it been the 16520, I would have preferred the WHITE dial due the contrast that the black rimmed registers have. What I also like about the black dial 116520 is that it reminds me a bit of the 16520 black dial.
