Two very different watches. If I were 16 I'd want the Sub.

I prefer the sub. You can pick one up on the for sale section of the forum for about $7600.

It depends on what you're looking for in the look, personally I like the Datejust, as it can be a dressier watch but can also be versatile

I had a Datejust and I really liked it, but a couple of years ago I saw a GMT and I never looked back. I purchased the GMT and I never gave the Datejust any wrist time. After A year of not wearing the Datejust I thought that it was a waste to have such a find watch sitting in a box so I decided to sell it. When I look at the GMT I know I made the right decision. The decision you are facing now is a similar one. If you are like me, you will like the datejust. However, with the Sub it will be at a totally new level of enjoyment.

My question is how does a 16 year old get to a position to own such a watch? Anyway, which ever way you go, enjoy.

I'd go with the datejust since, imho, it looks nicer. But it all depends on whether you want a watch that looks sexy, vs. a watch that looks rugged. If you want rugged, go for the sub, otherwise, go for the DJ.

Both are great watches but the Sub can go anywhere and do anything so my choice would be to get the Sub of your two options. But if it was me.....I would get an GMT!!!
Take it easy.....Leo

Go with the Sub for sure. By the way, what took you so long to finally get a Rolex?
I got my first Rolex when I was 7. But hey, better late than never, right? (by the way, thats root beer in those mugs if anyone asks)

How can a 16 year old even consider a Datejust over a Submariner? ;)

You waited until age 7? I bought my first SS Rolex at age 5, picked up a YG Day-Date at 7 and by the time I turned 9 had already moved on to Audemars and Patek:)

Teens+Rolex? Not the best idea. Put the money in the bank and you will be $7k ahead on those student loans.
