Window Shopping in Vegas

Just got back from Vegas and did a little watch shopping.

Rolex Store at Wynn - Had every Rolex you could imagine. The staff was very knowable and helpful. They treated you great. I asked the lady I was working with why all the blinged-up Rolex watches where in the front of the store and the classics (Submariner and GMT) where in a case in the far back of the store. She agreed and proceeded to show me her Pepsi GMT! All prices retail with no discount.

Omega Store at Bellagio - Great selection and excellent service. Once again all the bling watches where out front. Asked the sales guy if he had a Seamaster GMT and he was great. They had only one left, almost pulled the trigger. All prices retail with no discount.

Tourneau Store at Caesars Forum Shops - Bad selection, rude sales people and overpriced used watches.

Anyway if in Vegas definitely check out the Rolex store at the Wynn.

Thanks for the report from the ground smsprague.

They put the bling out front to capitalize on people's impulse buying habits that go along with 'winning big'.

Yes the Wynn Rolex store is great as is the Rolex store at the MGM Grand. So is the AD at the Bellagio. The Torneau at Ceasar's Forum Shops is more cookie cutter and yes the Preowned watch prices were too high. For preowned, the best place to buy is from one of the trusted sellers here at TRF.

Last December Tourneau had a preowned SS 116520 for $13K. I couldn't help but laugh at the salesperson when he told me what a great deal it was.

Vegas is a great place to play show and tell and try on what you like but the next move should be to fly home and contact a trusted seller on TRF

No I did not take any pics. Going back after Christmas will check out the AD at the Bellagio. The Torneau store had a used GMT Master (Pepsi Bezel) in average condition for $6,999.

Thanks for the report. I'm go to Vegas next month and will definately be checking the Rolex and Omega stores. I've been to the Tourneau (and actually bought a Seamaster there earlier this year), and yeah they are not the nicest people-until you say you want to buy something, then they treat you like a king (go figure, lol).

My wife and I had a different experience at Tourneau, Caesar's Palace last year. The sales lady was very friendly. I was looking at a Submariner at the time and I even told her that I'm only dreaming at the moment and don't have the money to buy. She took her time anyway, showed me three different watches. She even gave us a little "Tour" through the store. I wish I would have kept her business card to recommend her name. We were very impressed and we will definitely go back there and buy a watch for my wife next time we go back.

That shows you what a difference a good, friendly sales person can make...

My wife and I stayed at the Wynn last month and checked out the Rolex store there. I was trying to decide between the classic SS, date Sub or a Hulk. The lady there got a Hulk out of a coffin for me to see.

Made my decision then and there, only I came back home and bought from a seller here on TRF saving me a BUNCH of money! I went with the classic ss, Sub with date.

Nice to see another member from AZ, welcome to TRF. We are lucky here to have some great AD's, way better than Vegas AD's.

True about sales people at Tourneau. The lady I was asked to show me an Omega was rude and did not even get it out of the case.

Hi Karmapt - thanks for the welcome. I live in Tucson and I think we only have one AD (Ben Bridge). They did not have much in stock when I went in about a year ago.

Similar experience. Saleslady said she was not prepared to take the Milgauss green sapphire out of her safe unless I was going to buy it. I guess Tourneau is a good place to browse, but I would purchase elsewhere

hey

The guys at Roman Times in the Forum Shops are excellent.

I had good experiences with visiting/purchsing from them in the past.

Too bad they aren't a Rolex AD though.

I have been in that Tourneau with a business partner who bought a Baume Mercier. The Rep that worked with the Baume Merciers was actually awesome. We told him flat out that we had a watch from a store down the hall that we wanted and the price it was at and he definitely gave us a price we couldnt pass up on. He knew alot, and he understood what kind of customer service would best apply to us. We were looking around for a possible second watch for someone else downstairs (two story tourneau) and we were hounded by rude associates who just read their corporate pitch to us followed by their credit pitch. They were so rude we literally told them we werent interested in buying from anyone unless it was the same gentleman that got us the Baume...he was right there and laughed a little.
