They will be showcased at Basel watch fair in spring. First hitting stores in late august early September most likely.

Be shown at Baselworld in March. Release will be late summer to winter depending on your location.

I'm not expecting much for 2013. The whole range has been updated. The only speculation will be the annual ceramic GMT Pepsi bezels which won't be introduced but we will speculate anyway.

Well in the past 30 year you could count the real new models produced by Rolex on one hand. Now every year they have a watch show at Basel thats when all the major brands release there new, or revamped old models so I would say that will be March 2013.But the time that any new or revamped models will be available for public sale about this time 2013.

So true

Although we might see Cerachrom bezels on more Daytona models. I would be interested to see a black ceramic bezel on the steel Daytona, although the usual Rolex roll-out schedule would suggest that TT models will receive it next ...perhaps. I would be even more interested to see an entirely new Daytona (or Daytona II), but not holding my breath

Actually though, that's not as obvious an answer as you might think.

In the case of cars, for example, you can buy a 2013 model BMW right now.

This sort of reminds me of when I was a boy, going into a sweet shop and asking how much their penny lollies were.

Rumour has it that the new 2013 Rolex model will incorporate a built-in iPhone

True and I wouldn't have said that on a BMW forum but on a Rolex forum it is obvious.

A reliable source (bloke in the pub) told me that next year we'll see a 42 mm Daytona with pepsi ceramic bezel, day-date and moonphase. Oh, and a display caseback as well

Rolex doesn't really release watches by "model year".

As mentioned, they showcase their watches at the Basel Watch Fair each year, however, there may only be a couple of actual "new" changes and so they are not showing model year offerings as you might expect from a car dealer. Usually it's a different dial option or bezel option on the same watches.

Over the past decade, beginning with the Daytona in 2000, they have been updating one or two models each year to showcase at the fair. These models don't actually show up at a Dealer until almost the following year..
