Missed Opportunity

I'm visiting some family in Wisconsin this weekend and I stopped into a local AD to try on some sport models. I really loved the GMTIIc, and I couldn't believe it when I saw they had it marked for sale at $7,600. Was that the price prior to the most recent price increase? Anyways, they offered a discount to bring the price down to $6,800, plus they'd extend the 2 year Rolex warranty to 4 years, they also said they would pay for its first service by RSC when it is needed, AND they offered to ship it to my home in Illinois so I wouldn't have to pay sales tax.

If this was two weeks ago I would have jumped all over this, but I just purchased a new SUV for my wife and just don't have the free cash at the moment. Darn!

More often than not, we regret the things we didn't do...the AD probably would've offered a one-year, no interest deal with 20 pct down...

Pretty sweetheart deal. Well, when you're ready, you'll know what to ask for.

same

I had a simular situation. I was in a high end estate store in FL. I am a Rolex collector, so always look at what places like this have, and prices. Turns up they had a new Explorer II (with the large face) and had it priced at 4500. I believe they had it priced at the Day Date II pre owned smaller face. I should have purchased it, but did not. I did however alert the owner that the price seems wrong. I went back to purchase it if the price was the same, but it was at the correct price of 6800.

Love the trusted sellers here. But $6800 from an ad is pretty hard to beat!!

I don't remember seeing a BNIB ExpII in the classifieds for less (but I really haven't looked hard.) $6800 is a GREAT price.

I feel your pain. I missed a polar explorer last year for 40% off at a shop 2 miles from my house. When I was walking in to buy it, dude was walking out with it and he had a big smile. Still hurts.
