Where's fall?

For us in the northern hemisphere, winter is approaching although I'm wondering what happen to fall. It usually gets chilly by now in Dallas, but we're seeing 80 degree weather coming up this week and it's the middle of November. This weather is fine for test driving cars, but I want to wear my new leather jacket.

We got the first snow in Denmark today.

BTW: The sentence "Where's fall" reminders me of a movie I once saw that was translated with Danish subtitles.

Now, "Efterår" is the Danish word for "Fall" (the season).

See here goes:

A man knocks on the door. Woman asks: "Who is it?"

The man replies: "It's Sherman" (Sherman being his SURNAME! and PAUL being his first name).

The woman opens the door and says: "It was PAUL, last time we saw eachother" (showing clear signs of disappointment since they used to be a couple).

That last sentence was translated to Danish: "Det var efterår, sidst vi sås". meaning "It was FALL, last time we saw eachother"!

I guess the translator shouldn't have given up his or her day job at Mc Donald's!

Here in DC fall occurred on Nov. 1. Since then it's been winter (in the 40's-50's F, but sans snow, thankfully).

Right now it's wonderful outside, 54.0 °F / 12.2 °C. Last week the lows were dipping to the low 30's / 0C.

My co-worker in Plano, Texas I was giving some grief to because he too was complaining about the weather down there. I said what, you'd rather be winterizing your house this weekend?

Apparently we skipped fall and jumped right into winter. I was told that it snowed in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day, but I didn't see any. Currently it's 38 F (3 C), but feels like 32 F (0 C).

Hey, thanks for sending us that icky cold rain today! I do declare we did skip right over fall and right into winter. At least it feels more like the holiday season now.
