Milgauss
Looking for some input please on the Rolex Milgauss. I don't know a whole lot about this model and am seeking your thoughts on it?? I've been offered one by my AD that he says retails for $7800 for a 30% discount which means $5460. plus tax. What are your thoughts? I just bought the GMT a month ago and really like it. As far as looks go, the Milgauss wouldn't be my 1st or 2nd choice.

I like mine, and those who have them seem to really like theirs......so if you try it on, and like it, I think the discount is excellent! Which one is it?

I won't see it until tomorrow but going by the retail price I'm guessing it's 116400 GV but not sure.

I like the milgauss with the black dial. The lightning bolt second hand is unique.

Good price, especially if he discounts the GV. If you like it, go for it.

Great price! If you don't mind the lack of date you will like this watch. It is very thick watch, but it is not a bad thing.

I owned the Milgauss 116400GV for a while. Loved it but parted with it for a GMT II 16760 "Fat Lady" plus some cash. Parted with the GMT II soon after.... wish I had a GV again but haven't got the funds at the moment.

Yea discount sounds great especially if it's a GV. You don't see preowned GV's in that price category often. It's something fairly unique and a little different too.

Had one for a year or so. Nice and heavy. I tired of it and sole it. No regrets on selling it.

Not to get off subject but I don't think (I'm certain) there's a Milgauss that retails for $7800. The GV is $8200 and the 116400 is $7650. Before the last increase the GV was $7650 and the others were $7150. Either way good discount but not sure why an AD would tell you an incorrect price. Great discount for the GV as you could sell it for that privately pretty easily.

If it's the GV, then that's an excellent price for a brand new one!
I've a GV and it's a beautifully weight watch with a real understated style that does not scream out Rolex. And that's the beauty of it, it's a watch you can wear anywhere without worrying that you'll be noticed wearing a Rolex. In it own right, it's a supremely clear and easy to read dial - uncluttered and simple. The orange lightning bolt and green class make it just that little bit special. The case is also beautifully curved and polished to a mirror finish. It may look a bit drab when in a display case at the AD, but you've got to put it on your wrist to appreciate it. Worse comes to worse, it can be flipped without losing much as the price is outstanding esp if you can get it shipped out of state :-) Here's a couple of pics of mine to help make up your mind! |

I would go for it. I love my Milgauss GV and I paid $5,850 for a used one from January 2012. This is a great price for an even greater watch!
Here I am at the James Bond premier with my Milgauss GV Source: http://rolexblog.blogspot.no/2009/01...-milgauss.html
