Buying used in London - authentication?
I'm new to the forum, so firstly hello!
I don't own anything noteworthy yet, but have been harking after a Rolex ever since sitting in a law firm's meeting room at 17 and watching the partners compare theirs in awe. Seven years later I'm about to start as a trainee, and figured I'd better look the part! I'm completely lusting after as Sub, but I can't afford to buy new, so buying used is pretty much my only option. However, I'm extremely concerned about the likelihood of being scammed when buying at reasonable prices used. From reading around on here, it seems that the best way to get round this fear is to do the deal in a reliable shop and have them verify it as genuine then and there. However, I can't imagine this the shop owner would particularly enjoy this. Can anyone recommend anywhere for this kind of service, or give any tips on buying with confidence? Thanks! Dan |

Welcome, I am not sure if this is true anymore, but one used to be able to call the RSC and check the serial against the lost & stolen registry. This was available in the UK only. Your best bet, however, is to buy the seller, not the watch. Good luck!

Hi Danny
There are lots if reptable dealers in London selling pre owned watches if you wanted a bricks and mortar type store. There are also lots of trusted sellers around as well, just do your homework and buy the seller!! I see what you have your eye on lol
