Rolex Submariner 168000 question?

Need some help, what would be a good best for a Rolex submariner 168000 freshly serviced complete with papers, booklets and inner and outer box? I have a friend of mines selling it to be and he is asking 5,400. Is that a good deal?

Depends on the condition, original parts (dials/hands), etc. Can you post some pictures?

Also just to verify, you say it is a triple-0?

The triple-0 is a much sought after limited production model and I am sure if it was in impeccable condition, the price would be right to that specific collector wanting to fill that void in their collection.

For the money, is there any reason why you would not be looking at a newer 16610?

People collect for a myriad of reasons which could include something that ties you to the watch such as an era, birth year, investment purposes / price speculation, something you truly like, etc., etc., or in this case a very unique model (168000) that was possibly in very limited production lasting only up to several months and not even a year.

I can't comment on the price...but that model has always intrigued me.

Pics please, it has been reported it was a only a 9 month run for the 168000, though I think it was a bit longer. About a year and a half to 2 years IMO. I own a 168000 and would pay the asking if it truly had all the goodies and was in good condition.
