What do think (Daytona - Yacht M - Patek P)
Hi everyone,
i need your advice, i decided to buy a new watch, i am between the new Rolex Yacht-Master II WG and Patek Philippe 5110 world time WG which one do you think is worth the money. both are great names. i have Rolex 1016 and 5513 and i am keeping them as an assests i will never sell them. but i have WG Daytona and i might sell it to buy the New Rolex Yacht Master or Patek Philippe World Time do you think it is a wise idea to sell a WG Daytona to get one of these two. your feed-back extremely important to me thank you all |

Great watches on your list and at the end of the day it won't matter what I think because you'll be wearing the watch! So here's my advice, my 0.02, try them on, pick the one that smiles back at you the most and then wear it in good health. Every time you look at the watch you'll smile too and think Wow that's a nice watch. Ans I'll be happy too because you picked the best watch |

You might also want to think about function. The YMII has a very specific function and the PP 5110 has a more universal appeal in terms of what it does.

I agree with the previous post: try them on and follow your heart!
My personal choise would be to keep the WG Daytona: it's a beatiful model and it has a great history (whereas the YM is modern)

Get the watch that smiles at you. They are all great watches. I don't think any of them are better than the other....what's important is the one that smiles back at you and says take me home. Good luck in your decision.

I agree with the poster above--first determine which functions are more useful to you and decide from there. Do you need world time? The PP is a fantastic watch. If you are involved more with water sports, the YM would make a great choice. The Daytona is one of Rolex's most sought after models--it sounds like the chronograph functions are not a priority for you, but it is a great watch too.
Rolex and PP are extremely different brands--Rolex is sturdier and the price of maintenance is much lower. PP is the ultimate in "snob appeal" and it's horological excellence runs deep in many different ways--the design of it's dial to facilitate using the world time function is both simple and clever. Moreover, there is a world of difference when it comes to finishing of the movement. If you travel a lot or call people around the world each day in your business, then the PP might be for you. PP's are very expensive to maintain though, so if you have that kind of income, it would be a fun watch to own. Rolex though makes watches which are more "forgiving" in the sphere of the average lifestyle though and has the features of durability, steady performance, low maintenance costs and for most people, high satisfaction. |
