What got you interested in Breitling?

My first real watch happened to be a Breitling and was handed down to me by my father . . . an 806 Navitimer. This watch woke up a dormant obsession for watches burried deep inside me for years. Here is the centerpiece of my collection . . . post a pic of yours.

This pre 806 V72 Navitimer got me interested in vintage Breitlings!

Saw one on a USMC F/A-18E pilot when I was a kid and thought the Navitimer was some kind of AWESOME super high tech fighter pilots watch. So I've always wanted one. Navitimer is the only Breitling model that I fancy.

Out of my budget, but could have purchased a pre owned for 4.5 k...Perhaps someday...

Navitimer for sure...favorite model! Also, my godfather, who has been flying for years, swears by his Aerospace.

I hate to sound repetitive, but.....the Navitimer. It is simply stunning and unique. I also appreciate the QUALITY of Breitling.

I like complications in my watches and this is the most complicated watch I own - semi-perpetual calendar, only has to be reset once every 4 years; chronograph, circular slide rule (for those of us old enough to remember those things) and moon phase. Oh, and it has hands to tell the time with:

I love the ties to aviation but the B01 movement really made me finally get one.

The history, Scott Carpenter, flying and the professional aspect of those who wear and use the brand.

I have two and my wife has one

The Emergency! I thought it was the wildest watch. Figured lots of watches have precious metals, mechanical movements, and even diamonds but how many have a distress transmitter built in. Seemed very James Bond-esq. I purchased one back in 08' kept it for about a year then had the chance to flip at a decent profit and went with a TT Daytona. I've seen people talking about a new Emergency coming out soon, very interested to take a look.

Early this year I was searching for a nice multi-function tool watch.

Was interested in the Omega X-33. Then, I came across a reference to the Breitling
B-1.
Compared it with the X-33 and chose the Breitling....After about eight months of wearing the B-1 I am still impressed with how well it meets my needs and exceeds my expectations.

i am part of the new generation of watch enthusiasts. when i first got into watches i was looking at the most badass watch I could wear. that to me was the breitling bentley motors T. That was how I was originally drawn to Breitling.

used to see it a lot on pilots wrists when I was a child and that was the coolest thing loool...
just realized while writing this that it was the reason behind my love for watches

A Breitling Crosswind Bi colour was the first ever watch to really catch my eye when I was younger, it just oozed class, masculinity and had a coolness that other watches just didn't possess, and I always kept that picture of it saying one day... I'll own it, and finally many years later I saved enough money for a second had SS with black dial and Roman numerals and never looked back, my Crosswind Special pictured is now my 5th Breitling and has a special place in my watch box, just been serviced and looking better than when I purchased it 8years ago, I had a short 2year spell when I added a RolexDSSD but quickly became bored with it,Rolex are just too common for my liking,I like something a bit different than all the other"followers of mass produced brand fashion" hence I chopped it in for my new aquasition the Audemars Piguet Bumblebee which is unbelievably awesome .. But the crosswind special still is the preferred daily wrist candy

I bought my Superocean after I developed a love for divers and the tech involved with them. Currently have the Superocean 42 and a Sub LV, would love to have a DSSD someday as well.

My first Breitling was a Bentley GT...probably the sporty look that caught my eye and reasonable pricing for first major timepiece!

A beautiful watch. Mine has a black dial with white outer and says 1461 on it. My favorite of all timepieces I own.
And yes - I still actually use the slide rule on mine from time to time.

What amazes me is how reasonably priced this watch was when it was originally released - the functionality versus cost.

The only other watch from this manufacturer that has retained my interest is the Cosmonaut 24hr.

the awesome specs with the thermo compensated quartz movement and reasonable size of the Colt II quartz got me hooked and I am very happy with my experience with it :) I am sad they discontinued the reasonable sized colt quartz :(

I also love dive watches & was drawn to the 2004 SuperOcean (not so fond of Breitlings new SO) because I could afford it where I couldn't justify the cost of a sub at the time... Fast forward a few years and I now own a sub C LV as well, but the SO still gets daily wrist time.

The build quality and finish of Breitlings is second to none in the medium end luxury watch catagory & great discounts (some as high as 35%) can be had from almost any dealer.

A service on my SO costs about $300.00 less than a Rolex watch service but you are tied to sending your Breitling to the service center in your respective country as they don't sell parts to independent watch repair shops.

Beautiful watches above folks!

Heres my contribution to the thread..

Never used this for more than a conversation piece,as i got it on a whim and no longer fly,but have been intrigued w/ the design concept
since the 90's...

Peddling it soon,as i got my 1st Rolex and have zero need for 2 watches

and barely a need for one....

This is an 07' Emergency II w/ croc-style band ....
