Royal oak

I am considering my next purchase and went to AD to try on RO 15300 really is a gorgeous watch but i am slightly concerned that the date did not change until 6 minutes past midnight is this the norm with AP. Other watches i have rolex ect all change on the hour or maybe a minute past
would welcome your thoughts

Funny you should say that. I have a Sub 116610LN and a RO 15300ST. My Sub changes date approx. 6 minutes after midnight, but the RO does that only half a minute after midnight. I guess it's a specific property of each movement, and not a common thing with a manufacturer.

It's just where they placed the hands when it was put together. It says nothing about the quality of neither watch nor movement. All manufacturers have their own standards for whats right.

I would have thought AP standards would be to change on time then at midnight considering they're supposed to be one of the elite top 3 manufacturers

I'm asleep well before midnight most evenings so I never see it flip.

If it bothers you just send it in to APSC it will be there for a short time for having it sorted out.

Mine changes a minute or so after midnight! No big deal! However, I can say that the accuracy of the movement is just amazing. +-4 seconds a day is not bad IMHO. The caliber 3120 is one of the finest automatic movements ever made.
