Belated Incoming

Guys, been lurking in here looking at all the nice AP's for awhile. So I sold my platinum Day Date and got a new 15400 from DSW. So far I am loving the hand made feel of the RO. Looking forward to a long relationship with this one, I think it adds a whole new level to my little collection.

Thanks everybody for all the great threads!

May I ask why you sold the Plat DD? I love my Platty, it'd be one of the last of mine to ever go.

Sure you can. I enjoyed the Platty and I probably will get another president in the future. I guess I felt like from a horological standpoint I could do better with the funds elsewhere for my collection. The AP has a lot more handwork and soul to me. That is what the AP brings to the table. I also picked up the speedy 9300 from the proceeds. For me the speedy brings some modern tech to the table. I am still halfway to another piece. Possibly a pre-loved YG President in 6mos or so.

I feel like I did right by the Platty though. It came to me 10yrs old and faded dial W papers. I sent it to RSC and Got it back up to mint condition, found the correct box and accessories for it. Now someone else has a nice mint complete set. I only lost a little $$.

Thanks everyone for the comments.

It was a tough call! A lot of fine timepieces out there.

Congrats and well done. Nothing feels better than trading a Rolex for an AP. I've done it before and have never regret it.
