Hal, my wrist is 7 inches on the nose. I felt my wrist, based on size, shape, little hair, etc. was really borderline in terms of whether 39mm or 41mm fit better. Interestingly, on my wrist I preferred the look of 39mm when it came to 15300 vs 15400, but I preferred the look of the 41mm when it came to 26300 vs 26320. I think the subdials on the chronos make the watch look a little less expansive and big. I haven't tried enough 42mm stuff to compare to those.
