White Writing Turn-O-Graph 116264??

Hi Guys

Hoping you can help.....
I've come across a 2008 Black Dial ''Turn o Graph 116264 at a reputable watch dealer.
The 'Turn o Graph' writing on the dial of this particular watch is in white which seems odd as I've only ever seen them with red writing. I've searched for photos of similar dials with the white lettering but with no luck.
Has anybody any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Yeah I'd pass. The magnification looks a bit off and is also missing black markers on 5,15,25 etc

Interesting indeed. Does he have paperwork and is he willing for an AD's watchmaker to open it for authentication?

It is possible it is a refinished dial...but making sure it is genuine would be main concern.

If it's a fake, it's a high grade one.

If not, it may become a very rare collector in the future.

It obviously need to be expertised (opened) before buying.

I can tell you the one I had earlier this year ( which is still in the dealer window cos they havent sold it yet ) has RED writing on it.

Infact they have two - mine which was on a superjub and they have another black faced one on oyster. i can see you live in the uk, so if you want to know where they are PM me.

this was my watch when it was at Blowers to compare with all stickers on it ( and its not there now )...... http://www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk/r...6264_w2859.htm

Really appreciate your feedback guys.

The dealer, (whom I have bought from before) has all paperwork, boxes and even Rolex service history from 2011. He too is baffled by the 'white writing' and can lend no explanation or theory. As far as the dealer is concerned all the boxes are ticked to say that this is an original Rolex TOG.

Could it be a service dial??

Great observation re. the lack of black markers at the 5, 15, 25. Didn't notice that until The Joker pointed it out.

Thanks again...take care.

Update....
The dealer gave me the serial number and I spoke to Rolex in St. James.
They confirmed that the watch had indeed been serviced by them but nothing out of the ordinary was recorded. They also confirmed that a 'white writing' TOG dial has never been issued!
It appears that the watch has been tampered with since returning from the Rolex service in 2011.
The bezel is in fact OK and shows the markings at 5,15,25 etc. as you would expect. They were "airbrushed" out of the photo for some strange reason.
The dealer has since taken it off his web site and will send the watch into Rolex.
Thanks for your thoughts.....all very helpful. Will keep you posted if I hear anything else.
