New Yacht-Master Blue Dial Really Limited?

Does anyone know if the new blue dial Yacht-Master will be limited like the Daytona SS? I tried one on this evening and the AD explained that I should buy it as it was the only one remaining of the two they expected to get the rest of the year. Well I loved the watch and placed a deposit on it allowing me one day to think it through. I was really skeptical when she explained that Rolex was going to limit the production of the blue dial just like they limit the SS Daytona. Any additional information or additional thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you...

Just another marketing ploy in my opinion. Generally speaking limited edition watches are sold as 'limited edition' watches with its number written on the back. But I am not an expert.

Right now limited only due to production ramp-up not yet equal to channel demand. But expect it will be as plentiful as new Platty's production #'s in a year's time.

If you're interested in one, the better pricing will happen in the pre-owned market even later on.

Every bit as limited as the Milgauss GV was in 2008... right up until it wasn't.

Someone needed a sell today. Lol
Most sales associates will definitely make things seem more appealing to make a decision right then

Thank you very much guys!!! I really got caught up with the great look of the watch today...I think I will hold off for a few months or so and try to work a better deal when they are more available. Thanks again for setting me straight.

That's almost as good as the Sales Manager at my local AD "schooling" me about the fact that Rolex raises their prices twice a year randomly and that if I want to get my watch at this price, I'd better place a deposit now...

Sales 101 - create a sense of urgency with discomforting data then provide the buyer a psychological safety net :).

I use this strategy alllll the time, except it's not for purchases over $5k.....I've thought about getting into watch sales and this certainly wouldn't be one of my tactics...

Many AD speak with forked tongue, but even that makes a change from talking through were the sun don't shine.

Strictly speaking of course it is limited. They can not supply an infinite amount of them. Almost everything ever produced is limited.

You need to go to something like neutrinos to even come close to something that is unlimited in supply.

Agree, it might be limited as of 2012 due to production, but I'm sure in the next year or two they will be widely available.

Anyways, don't let that make or break the deal on buying the watch. If you love the watch, GET IT! And as an added bonus, you know you're one of the first people to ever have it!

There are only 6 weeks left in the year, not a very compelling sob story.

My AD also told me that they will get only two when I was buying one for my father.

Think again about buying it, the bezel scratches very very easily. :(
(should have bought him a sub)

All 3 of my local AD's have them in stock right now, I guess at over 12K they are not selling that much. Still a really nice watch and I would love to have one.
