Submariner vs. Daytona

Newbee here

Does anyone know the height difference between the Submariner and Daytona, I wear french cufflinks and the submariner does not fit under neath cuffs. I heard Daytona might be thinner, is this true?

I am looking for my first mechnical timepiece and want one I can wear with suits and casually on weekends. Does Daytona with white face slip comfortably between these rolls. I do believe submariner does but height is issue.

Thanks

Daytona is 12.06mm Sub date 13mm, but a simple solution wear different shirts with wider cuffs then you could wear both.

I own both and the daytona is definitely more comfortable and sits lower. wears much better with dress shirts. I have sub date c... Which seems to wear bigger than previous sub date but I have never had both at same time to do side by side comparison.

Seadweller fits under my french cuffed shirt though. Maybe your cuff it too tight...

Thanks for replies. On future shirts I can have tailor increase cuff size to accommodate larger watch, but I have a lot of shirts I don't want to put in dust bin yet.

My other option is a Patek 3919 in white gold, it is about same cost as Daytona SS in secondary market. Then down road PU a Submariner.

I just looked up the Datejust and that could fit the bill as well, and with money saved pick up a submariner if both used.

Tough decisions, I want to stay under $10k for used watch, prefer one for both dress and casual over needing two.

I am struggling over which direction to go.

Decisions.....decisions

Hi I have both sub and Daytona
Both can be worn with cuffs. Sub gets more wrist time but Daytona is super cool. I would try buy both used on TRF. These 2 would be my perfect 2 watch collection combo. A bonus for me is that. They both don't have dates so no worrying about setting dates each time you rotate.
