This is a time when "this thread is useless without pictures" would be fitting. I want to see that watch!

It had to be pretty over the top for them to suspect it could be used a a timing device in a bomb. I agree, I would love to see it though

Apparently, you don't remember when Joe Foss was searched repeatedly by TSA agents because he was found to have in his pockets his Medal of Honor, a nail file, and a dummy bullet on his key chain.

Of course, Foss was eventually allowed to board the plane with his Medal of Honor, after he mailed his nail file and key chain home to himself.

I too would like to see a picture of the watch and a list of the so-called bomb-making materials.

but i can get across a security zone with a spool of speaker wire and a 9 volt battery. how can i get across with 'bomb making materials' and this guy gets charged with having a tacky watch with NOTHING TO MAKE A BOMB WITH.

seriously, they should just slap him on the wrist for having a watch in bad taste, instead of charging him with some phony charge. no mention of them over-reacting.

Guy was supposedly an "artist" and the watch was one of his creations......although the built up shoes they indicate could have been used to conceal explosives has yet to be explained.....

Government officials reported that he had 'multiple insoles' in his boots. MULTIPLE INSOLES!! Thank goodness we live in a country where you get arrested for wanting a very cushioned step. Somehow, that must be dangerous for the rest of us. TSA = gross incompetence.

Apparently, it was this:

Probably not the smartest watch to wear to the airport.

After reading the article I wonder if maybe it was a Pre-run. Tourniquet shirt? Boots with empty cavities in the soles?
I'd put him on the Do Not Fly list. Sorry - too suspicious.

this guy has a home made very vaguely explosive (extreme stretch) watch, and gets a finger up the hoop.

flaming lips front man brings deactivated grenade through an airport and shuts down OKC walks away

http://ca.eonline.com/news/365105/fl...-airport-chaos

way to go.

Along with the 8,000 to 10,000 others prohibited from flying.

Both are one lug nut short of a balanced wheel IMHO.

I'm all for the first amendment but c'mon. If you are stupid enough to wear something that looks like it could go BOOM, then don't be surprised if you are treated a little differently than everyone else. No sympathy for him and if you put anything that looks like a grenade in your luggage that is going on an airplane, you are an IDIOT.
