Is there proper way to wear watch.....

I just picked up first expensive (for me) watch which has a SS bracelet and will need to get it sized. Is there proper way to wear it....riding low on wrist or above wrist bone that protrudes? What about tight or lose?

It seems most pics here have it low, any particular reason why? If loose how lose should it be, how is it measured?

Sorry for testing the saying that no question is a stupid question

Thanks

Chuck

As far as I know you need to be able to make a finger fit (more or less) between the bracelet and your wrist. As for the position of the watch, I'd say it depends on what you prefer.

A close snug fit, but never feels tight.

I say, just wear it in the way that you most feel comfortable. The only 'right' way, is the 'right' way for you! Some people like it snug, some like is loose, some people wera it low, some wear it high. Some people wear it on their right hand. Some people wear it the the face facing downwards. It's just your own preference ...

+1

It seems from other posts that wearing it very loose will eventually stretch the bracelet. That would be my only caveat.

Hi Chuck, above or below the wrist bone is personal choice, although if you wear it your left wrist below the bone you may find the crown digging into the back of your hand.

Either way, most wear them about this snug:

I wear mine so at it's loosest (when my arm is at it's thinnest) it's just tight enough to not spin.

on a bracelet, i prefer a little bit loose, with the head on the top of my wrist.
on leather, i prefer snug with the head on the inside of my wrist.

in both cases, always above the wrist bone. nothing more irritating then having my watch dig in my hand at any point.

Actually, Jocke did it with JJ's face quite a while ago. I just swiped it from him.

Yes, there is only one way to wear a watch. And if you fail to wear it properly, your local constable will forcibly remove it from your wrist.
