Confirmation of old RSC service based on RSC papers

Hi, just wondering, if a watch is sold with a service paper that's say 5 years old i.e is not a currently effective warranty, is it possible to verify a RSC service was performed by contacting Rolex? If so, would be a good way to 1) ascertain a watch is genuine to some extent and to 2) Verify the service paper was genuine. Any thoughts on how Rolex handles a past service enquiry?

Call Rolex on the phone and ask them. But, bear in mind that the answer you get will rely greatly on who picks up the phone.

A few years ago, I picked up an Explorer II that came with service paperwork... but the paperwork wasn't dated! It was unusual to say the least, so I called Rolex NY and asked them to verify the service date by the watch's serial number...

....they politely refused, saying that they could only give that information to the original owner unless I sent it to them and allowed them to service it.

So I said "thanks" and called Rolex Dallas 3 minutes later, and the lovely lady who answered the phone down there took my watch's serial number and looked it up in the computer and told me when the watch was serviced.

No matter what RSC says. Have the piece opened and verified by either an AD or a certified watchmaker.

Lots could have happened in 5 years!

Give the Melbourne RSC a call mate.
They won't bite.:)

As always....if you have doubts re any watch get it checked out.

Thanks for the insight on this lmj2a, Paul, Pete, sounds like is a matter of chance they letting us on that historic servicing info, surely worth a try though.
