r series daytona

I have an r series 16528 that I picked up from a reliable seller, but I notice it only has three lines of writing on the top. It does not say officially certified on it. Any ideas why? Was it done on some of the earlier ones?

Jacob,
I was hoping that some Daytona experts would chime in..

The only time I have seen the 3 line dial like yours, (or 4 line if you include the Cosmograph) without the "Officially Certified", is on another ~1987 Gold Daytona ..

If the Cosmograph is separated it is known as a "floating" Cosmograph

I believe that it is authentic and as far as I know, it is the only year it was produced, unless somebody can show another..

I think the only R series earlier than that Larry was the 200 mph bezel. And the Cosmograph print was separated from the rest of the lines. I found a good description in an old thread on TRF by a mod named "mike" ...
