GMT 116713 Dial Swap ?'s
Hey guys, finally about to try out a TT Rolex... Between the blue ceramic 116613 and a well known sellers GMT II C 116713 ... The gmt however has a green dial from the full gold LV GMT!
What are your thoughts on this piece with its dial swap? I'm having a rough time getting who did the swap, only info thus far is its been swapped by an AD, and polished too :/ Kind of apprehensive but I'm loving the piece and combo! Thoughts? Will I have issues servicing it through RSC come time? Do you think it compromised water resistance? Would love some thoughts and opinions, all the best Martin |

rolex wil probably want to change it back if they service as it is not an option on that watch.

As long as the dial is OEM, you are fine as long as you like it. You will not have a snowballs chance in hell having a US AD swap that dial for the original dial unless you supply the dial yourself. RUSA may give you grief, but I really do not think they can do much since it is all Rolex parts. The water resistance is a non-issue IMO. As long as you like the watch and are OK with it being over polished, then go for it.

Im probably going to buy the TT GMTC next but I wouldnt with a green dial, Id rather stick with how they should be and buy a green dial afterwards.

More than likely if you send it to Rolex, they will swap to the black dial (and keep the green) AND they will charge you for it as well. Sweet combo though, if all original.

Damn...
They will keep the dial?! :( And yes it's an original dial, from an AD that went bankrupt says the seller.. blah Seller also says it was a light polish, it looks great and not with soft edges, etc.. I'm at a loss with what to do. I really think the green dial gives it some awesome character, otherwise i'd going with the blue sub ceramic any day over it (I have a SS gmt ii c) soo don't want another black dial The last thing i'm thinking is resale value... I guess depending on what I get it for would determine that, i'm getting it for a great deal, in the 7's.. all complete, I doubt i'd lose anything or much right? Thanks guy's |
