2007/2008 Rolex Price Rises
Dear All,
I am very new to this forum. I have just been speaking with an Authorised Rolex Dealer here in Melbourne, Australia regarding my intended purchase of a S/S GMT Master II. The current price here for the S/S GMT is $8790($Aus). This does not factor in any discount yet. I was advised that if I intended to purchase the S/S Sub there would be an approximate discount of 5%. The Sub here retails for $7290 ($Aus). Further, I was advised that Rolex has had a recent price rise which has flowed on to the Hong Kong area. I was also advised that there may be an increase here in Australia between 5% - 8% overall. Does anyone in this forum have knowledge of Rolex price increases that are starting to flow through to consumers? Any advice would be great. Trying to find out when the increase may happen here in Australia was like trying to pull teeth with a set of pliers. Perhaps, the sales person was not sure when and if the increase may hit Australia. I have placed an order for the S/S GMT II, but I may have to wait at least 10 - 12 months. A further question to all if I may. Over time (investment), will a Sub increase in value more that a GMT II or not. I have been advised by the AD that a Sub in good condition should increase in value more than a Sub over the years, but I just love the look and feel of the S/S GMT II. Especially, the ceramic maxi-dial. Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards to TRF. |
