Some advice regarding Skydweller - which metal??
So my collection has undergone quite a bit of restructuring (under the philosophy of grails, complicated patek, vintage rolex or bust :)
For my next watch purchase as some know already I had been eyeing a skydweller (although not til next year as I want prices to cool a bit and I've already spent more than any same person should this year :) I don't know if I've seen a topic for sky dweller - which metal do you all prefer - so I am asking now - which one should I target! |

RG for sure!! Love the chocolate dial and to me an annual calendar just looks so elegant and classy on a leather strap!

For such a singularly unique dial with that 24hr. wheel, I like the champagne sunray finish and yellow gold case/bracelet as the quintessential Rolex gold watch combination. But that's me, and I don't have to fly under the radar in business settings.
If you do have to consider the visual impact of a watch on others (say in business or charity work) then the white gold does fly under the radar quite well. While I like rose gold in general, the chocolate dial isn't the easiest for me to read - especially in low light. Plus the fact that straps and me don't fit well together - I would be scraping the leather quite a bit at the track!

RG is wonderful in real piece. Got to try it on in Paris on Tuesday and the piece is magnificent.
However, I would pick the WG as I normally work in the factory and the sweat can destroy leather strap easily. Good luck with your hunt and hope to see the wrist shot soon :) |

Based on pics (as I've yet to see one in person) I'd be stuck b/t the YG & RG. I think the YG will complement the PT DDII and would love to try on the strap on the RG for a dressier look.

I'm not a huge fan of leather straps, so either wg or yg, I'd probably go for yg.

I've tried on the RG and WG. I must say the RG is stunning in person. My only hesitation is in business settings it is not a subtle watch. Therefore I think I would go with the WG which is still a beautiful piece. If you don't mind a hint of bling though the RG may be the way to go....

i would always say wg but in case of the sky dweller i'd opt for the red gold. the dial just looks nicer and balanced with full arabics and not mixing romans with arabics. plus the leather starp adds a bit of dressiness.
